Funny story

Funny story from yesterday. Alex, being the fabulous stay-at-home-3-days-a-week-dad that he is, decided to give Eva a bath yesterday while I was at work. We had made plans to go to Babies R Us and then Noodles and Company for dinner after I got out of work. Don't laugh, this is considered to be a "big night out" for us! Ha ha. Seriously... I'm not kidding...

Anyway, we went to Babies R Us, picked up a set of glass bottles (more on this later), then went to get a quick plate of Indonesian Peanut Saute. While we were out, Eva seemed a little less chipper than usual, and also appeared to have a bit of a pink tint. I even asked Alex if he took her outside for a walk, because it looked like she had a sunburn. Well, after we got home, I went to change her diaper and put her in her jammies for bed. I happened to notice that her baby wash was sitting on her changing table. I'm aware that 99% of other moms wouldn't even think twice about this. However, as we've already discussed, I'm sort of organized. So I immediately wondered why the baby wash wasn't in the bathroom, where it belongs. So I asked Alex about it(we've been living together long enough for him not to be surprised by this question). Come to find out, he thought it was lotion, and had given poor Eva a full body rub down with SOAP! And since she's such a laid back little thing, of course she didn't cry to let me know that her skin was pink because it was covered in soap!! Of course we had to get the soap off, so Alex and I dangled the little peanut over our kitchen sink and sprayed her down with the sprayer. All the while Eva was just looking around with her sweet little puzzled look, not even making one complaint about the whole situation.

A wise friend of mine suggested that I label the Aveeno Soothing Relief Creamy Wash, which apparently leaves skin moisturized for 24 hours, with the word "SOAP" in large, black, permanent marker. Not a bad idea. I mean, who could blame Alex. The description on the front is certainly misleading... except for the word "wash" of course.

A perfect example of why her soap belongs in the bathroom and her lotion belongs in her bedroom. And people think there's such a thing as being too organized. :)
