Sunday

My parents came to visit this weekend. It was the first time they've seen Eva since her baptism. With Alex working every weekend, it's pretty difficult to get to Michigan. We finally just decided to have him take a few vacation days so we could go next weekend, even though there really isn't any special occasion to go. Anyway, it was good to get out and about with Eva this weekend... she had lots of fun shopping :) She picked out a bathing suit to wear this summer at the beach and the pool- I can't believe how many cute bathing suits there are for babies at Old Navy. I kind of want to buy another one, but I'm sure it's unnecessary :)

Speaking of bathing suits, I sure am glad that the weather is warming up. I can't believe what a blizzard we had on Thursday as I was driving home from work. Then Friday morning the sun was out and you would have never known it was snowing like crazy the night before. Gotta love the midwest. I would love to go somewhere for a vacation, but I'm not sure how we'd bring Eva. I guess we'll have to wait a while till she's a little older.

Now that our life has calmed down a bit (reletively speaking, of course), I feel like I have some free time to fill. You may have already figured this out since I made the random decision to join Facebook and begin a blog :) I actually offered to volunteer at DNA Day on April 25th, taking calls from people who have questions about their family medical histories, whether conditions are inherited, etc. Should be interesting. The only not so fun part about it is that it starts at 7am in downtown Chicago, so I'll probably have to leave by 5 to make sure I get there without getting lost.

Maybe I should also start reading "fun" books again. Of course I have a bunch on my shelf I have been meaning to read, but haven't had the time. Does anyone have suggestions about some fun/easy read books? I think I need to start with some easy ones, since I'm sure I'll fall asleep after a chapter or two every night. Although I do have a stack of baby books on my nightstand I should probably read first...

Oh- I have to mention how great this Dinner by Design place is (see the link for more info :) ). I have heard a lot about those places, and always thought it was a great idea, but never thought I'd actually do it. Anne has gone to a place like it in Charlotte, and talked me into picking up an order when she was here visiting in February. Ever since then, I've been hooked. I love to cook, but it is really a pain in the butt trying to get to the grocery store, making sure I have all the ingredients, etc. And the price really adds up. So now that I've been doing Dinner by Design, Alex and I actually get to eat a well balanced meal a few (or more) nights a week. I still try to cook now and then, but the pre-prepared meals work great on nights I work.

Alright, well speaking of dinner, I should probably go figure out what we're eating when Alex gets home. I'll be back soon :)
